balance

I'm a people watcher... observer... overly judgemental, really. One thing I've noticed about some of our single friends is they think being married and "settled" is the end... all their childhood dreams will never come true and a man will just hold them down. So they run, and compensate... and when they rant about how terrible being married would be, I have to look at it from several sides. From my perspective, they're idiots. they're missing out on being with someone who completes them and makes going after dreams together that much more exciting, and fullfilling...
Some marriages give us folks a bad rep. Boring housewives who stay at home with the kids, never travel together, worried about mortgages and financing and evil grown up words. uk. who wouldn't try to run away from that?

And it makes me so thankful that Jay and I were able to find such a great balance. yes we have to be grown ups some of the time (really not that much)... but we get to play hard, and go on adventures together, and be madly in love with each other. We're supportive of each others careers and quirks.

so to all you people who think "I'm better off single" and  "a man is just going to hold me back and keep me from living my dreams" :

you're lying to yourselves and missing out on the best time of your life. being young and forever in love.
my life is better than yours, suckers!
